WORK WITH AN ASSISTANT

Working with an assistant

What is planned for external assistants, what remains under validation, and how manual authoring works today.

On this page

CR Publisher’s manual reporting workflow does not depend on AI. Connected workflows for Claude and Codex are planned, but customer access and compatibility with the current report workspace are still being validated. This page is an availability overview, not a connection guide.

External assistants and in-app generation are different

External assistant workflows would use a connection to CR Publisher through MCP, the Model Context Protocol. The assistant runs in its own client. In-app AI section generation is a separate, deferred feature; it is not enabled by following the manual report workflow.

Each client needs its own validation

Claude web, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and Codex will need separately verified setup and acceptance checks. A successful developer connection is not proof that customer authorization, file handling, and report edits work in every client.

There are no customer setup commands or credentials to copy from this page. We will publish instructions only after the relevant connection flow has been validated.

Access and professional review

Customer connections need to enforce identity and project permissions, define which changes are allowed, and support revocation. Report-writing compatibility with the current workspace must also be verified before release.

An assistant may receive project content when you use it. Consider your organization’s data-sharing requirements and the assistant provider’s policies before making material available. You remain responsible for checking content and its sources.

Local files and hosted connections

A hosted server cannot read a path on your computer. Files must be made available through an authorized, supported upload flow. Local assistant access to a file does not by itself upload that file to CR Publisher.
